Instant Pot Venison Stew

With tender, juicy meat cooked in a harmonious blend of fresh vegetables and rich wine, Instant Pot Venison Stew is the ultimate comfort food to end your busy day. Without any extravagant preparations, it only takes under an hour to cook this perfection.

No wonder Instant Pot Venison Stew is one of the best one-pot American cuisine recipes that bring a delicious depth of flavors to one dish.

Why This Recipe Works

I love this dish because it works its magic with a delicious, simple recipe that includes highly nutritious ingredients. It is also a great one-pot dish to feed the whole family!

The hero of the instant stew is the rich, earthy flavored venison meat that has a herby taste. With its firm texture and high protein levels, venison meat contains less saturated fat and low cholesterol levels that provide numerous health benefits.

Ingredients

Onion - Peel and slice the onion. Onion gives a beautiful caramelization and aroma to the stew.

Ribs Celeries - Dice your fresh rib celeries to add gorgeous greens to your stew.

Potatoes - Cut your potatoes into small 1-inch cubes. You can also use sweet or red potatoes.

Carrots - Cut into small 1-inch pieces. You can use your homegrown or store-bought produce.

Venison Stew Meat - You need 1 ½ lb. of venison meat for this recipe. Cut the meat into smaller bite-sized cubes to tenderize it thoroughly. Use shoulder cut or cut from the haunch (back leg) of the animal.

Butter - Creamy rich butter

Flour - High quality, rich in starch to make the butter and flour mixture called a roux.

Olive Oil - Olive oil is essential for sauteing vegetables and avoiding sticking ingredients at the bottom of the pot. You can also use vegetable or avocado oil.

Pearl Onions - With great health benefits, the addition of pearl onions provides a sweet glazed flavor.

Garlic Powder - Use 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to add an aromatic hint of garlic to your dish. You can also substitute a few chopped cloves of garlic instead of powder. I always go for the fresh ones!

Salt - Use 1 tablespoon of regular salt or as required.

Black Pepper - Add 1 teaspoon of black pepper to add an earthy spice to elevate the flavors in your stew.

Red Wine (Dry) - Red wine is a perfect ingredient for venison stew as it tenderizes the meat components while it cooks. It also uplifts the flavor of meat which enhances the overall taste of the stew. Don’t forget to pour a glass of wine for yourself while preparing the dish!

Beef Broth - Opt for a Beef broth to increase the flavors and protein levels. You can also substitute chicken broth or vegetable broth as well.

Fresh Rosemary - Use fresh rosemary to add lemony aromatic flavor to your stew.

Recipe Notes

● Cut vegetables into 1-inch pieces. Avoid cutting them into smaller pieces or else they will turn into a paste.
